Conference Program
Oral Sessions with Abstracts
Poster Sessions with Abstracts
The same advances in information technology that have led to greater awareness of environmental issues have also enhanced our ability to work together to solve them. The purpose of this international conference is to share creative strategies for dealing with emerging risk problems, highlighting how new science and technology are being used to solve a range of challenges with global impacts.
The aim is to gain insights from a variety of applications in an intimate setting that encourages discussions – recognizing not only interrelationships in the environment but also the importance of interactions among people.
The conference is organized into four theme areas:
Toward a
sustainable environment: managing resources through integrated actions |
Engineering and biotechnology
solutions: applying new technology to energy, food, health |
Public policy and due
process: involving stakeholders in developing solutions |
Environmental
information in the 21st century: improving approaches and tools for decisions |
In addition to sessions within these themes, Eco-Informa 2001 will include the
following special features:
- International Masters' Roundtable on lessons
learned confronting environmental issues over the past half century
- Workshop on the NATO Risk Assessment Network
to share approaches for dealing with the Cold War legacy
- Training Courses for all interested
attendees
